  真偽はわかりませんが、この時期に分離主義派が活気づくかもしれない要因としてはジャンムー・カシミール州における370条の適用の撤廃によって、371条が提供する諸州の地位も脅かされていると感じる人々がいるからかと思われます。

  Article 371 is part of Indian constitution. After abolishment for 370 of Jammu Kashmir, it is said that Modi government is trying to abolish Article 371 which provides special provision to Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Manipur, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Mizoram.
