  Having married into a Japanese family, Asian cultures are the most interesting for me to learn about.
  
  Yet, when I do have the opportunity to travel, I like to allocate some extra time to connect with local culture. I try to take local transportation and walk the streets of the town if historical sites are close by.
  
  In Amsterdam, I visited the Anne Frank House, the Rijksmuseum, the Van Goh Museum, the Heineken Experience building, the De Oude Kerk, the Basiliek van de Heilige Nicolas. It was an eight mile round trip.
  
  I finished off the day with a Japanese meal at the Wagamama restaurant at Amsterdam Centraal.
