High blood pressure is a concern.
When we compare blue collar work environments with white collar jobs, is there a correlation between which environment may contribute to higher blood pressure?
Think about an assembly line at a factory that creates widgets. A worker on the assembly line is likely more physically engaged at their station than a knowledge worker who is largely dormant in front of their computer reviewing documents or saving files in the cloud.
Being dormant in front of my computer preparing, reviewing, or signing tax returns is the top contributing factor of stress and anxiety for my high blood pressure. The pressure to complete projects at a fast pace, but still deliver high quality to the client is what drives high stress for knowledge workers.
I am in a position where I must be more intentional with what I eat, how often I exercise, getting at least 5 hours or more of sleep, and creating more opportunities to improve my personal wellness.
