There have been many times at work and in my personal life when I thought, “It’s much quicker if I do it myself!”
Yet, as I get older and start to take on more and more responsibility, I need to step back, look at the bigger picture and analyze what can be done in larger numbers than trying to do it all myself.
What am I afraid of? Is delegating the task a threat to my performance or my client engagement? Am I afraid that my client will become more dependent on my team member than on me?
We need to change our thinking process here. As I delegate tasks, I am actually engaging in activities that train my replacement. Is this a bad thing? Only if I have limiting beliefs.
I think of life in terms of abundance instead of scarcity. If my team builds a stronger relationship with my client than I have, I want to be the first to celebrate their development. That’s a sign that the coaching and mentoring is working.長期的な視野で行う努力の本質を理解する事だと思います。結論から言うと努力は「良い意味で自分が楽をするため」で、その為に自分の周りに自分と同じベクトルの人間を量産する作業が必要になるわけで、その為にマネジメントを行うのでその時間を勿体ないと勘違いする方は自分がやった方がみたいな発想に陥りがち。短期的にはそうですけど結果自分だけがいつも忙しいと愚痴を言う人になるわけですね。
